After experiencing a natural disaster and its devastating effects, it takes time to feel like life is "normal" again--maybe even years. Rick and Isabel, who lost their home and business in the Sunset Fire near Athol, Idaho, are an example of this. Isabel shares, "We have at least two years of clean up, salvage and reclamation. It is an unfathomable task." Not only are storm survivors of this magnitude faced with the daunting task of clean up, but they are also faced with the emotional challenges of it all: the loss, the uncertainty, the fears for the future, and the questions of "where do we go from here?" and even, "how do we get through today?"

Last month, at our benefit dinner for After the Storm Care, many of our guests took the time to write some short messages and promises from the Bible to encourage those of you who have been affected by a natural disaster. Words cannot undo what has been done, but behind these words please know that there are sincere and caring hearts, praying that you will find strength and peace and hope in the God who loves you dearly.

Take a few minutes to view each message written just for you. . .
