While, sadly, there are numerous reports of horrific tornadoes and flash flooding in the mid- and southern states each day lately, there are multiple wildfires in the states of Washington, Oregon, and Idaho all resulting in the loss--or possible loss--of homes and lives.
You may have heard the recent news of the Rowena Fire just three miles northwest of The Dalles in the Columbia River Gorge, Oregon. Beginning on June 11, 2025 more than 56 homes were tragically destroyed due to this wildfire.
And, at the time of my writing this blog, there are two major wildfires threatening homes and livelihoods in northeastern Washington--the Hope Fire and the Western Pines Fire.
The Hope Fire is located 5 miles southwest of Northport and has burned over 6,500 acres and is only 8% contained and as of July 12, had destroyed two homes. According to 2KREM news, "many are seeking shelter for themselves and their pets and even their livestock". The area is still on Level 3 ("Go now!") evacuation.
The Western Pines fire, located 10 miles northeast of Davenport, is still not contained having burned over 5,800 acres and damaging eighteen homes (primary structures) and 22 secondary structures. The people there are still under a Level 3 ("Go now!") evacuation, as well.
After the Storm Care is just getting off to a start. It is our desire to grow and expand in the future to minister to as many people as possible with God's leading, but for now we are hoping to better meet the needs of the disaster-affected people in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Because these states are within driving distance for us we will be able to take our After the Storm Care trailer full of emergency supply kits and make personal deliveries of essential items and offer spiritual hope!
Won't you please consider donating today? The need is great.
